German Technology, Kenyan Passion
Turning organic waste into clean energy, fertiliser and income — across Kenya.
LushBert is a joint venture between Bert Energy GmbH (Germany, biogas engineering and technology since 2010) and Lush Bert Ltd (Kenya). We supply, install and operate biogas and Black Soldier Fly systems that turn kitchen, farm and market waste into cooking gas, fertiliser and new revenue — for schools, farmers, cooperatives and communities.
Four programmes, one mission
School Biogas Programme
A national opportunity for Kenyan schools to turn kitchen waste into cooking gas and fertiliser, aligned with the Ministry of Education's clean-energy direction and KCB financing.
Active programme3BL Cooperative
A farmer cooperative built around Black Soldier Fly and biogas — training, aggregation and a structured pathway from a starter kit to full biogas ownership.

LushBert's own demonstration biogas plant on Lush Farm — the flagship installation that will become Kenya's local reference site for the technology.
Opportunity under reviewCommunity Biogas Cooperative
A waste-to-energy model we are exploring for estates, villages, waste-picker groups, NGOs and CSR programmes — sharing profit and carbon-credit income with communities.
